A Day
Principal’s Message
Mr. Eric Haruthunian - Central Islip High School Principal
Dear Central Islip School Community,
Spring is in the air, and with it comes the start of the 4th quarter—the final stretch of our school year! It’s hard to believe how quickly time has flown, but here we are, ready to finish strong.
As the days grow warmer and longer, let’s channel that energy into staying focused, working hard, and making these last months count. Whether you’re a senior preparing for graduation, a freshman settling into high school life, or anywhere in between, now is the time to push forward and give it your all.
Parents, your continued support is invaluable. Encourage your children to stay engaged, attend classes, and complete their assignments with pride. Students, remember that your efforts today will shape your future—so keep striving for excellence!
Let’s make this final quarter a time of achievement, celebration, and perseverance. Stay committed, stay positive, and finish strong!
Go Musketeers!

Meet Ms. Nicollette (Nikki) Tricarico, special education teacher at Alfano Elementary School. She has been chosen to be featured in this week's Musketeer Monday spotlight for her stellar work ethic and devotion to her students. Ms. Tricarico began her career in the Central Islip School District in 2021 at Mulligan Elementary School. After teaching her first year at Mulligan, she was assigned to Alfano Elementary, where she has continued teaching second grade 15:1:1 classes.
Dillon is a bright, engaging young learner with a wide range of interests. When asked about his favorite subject, he responded enthusiastically: “I love, love, love science—especially doing science experiments.” He also enjoys gym class. While Dillon takes pride in earning good grades—his overall average is an impressive 92—he admitted he's not a fan of homework.
Chris Carlozzo, LMSW, was invited to speak at Island Harvest’s “Stamp Out Hunger” kickoff event on Wednesday, April 23, at the organization’s headquarters in Melville.
Miss Umar is involved in a wide array of humanitarian efforts and activities within her community. She donates clothing to her masjid, House of Worship, and actively helps collect food to keep the local pantry stocked for those in need. She also volunteers with toy drives, helping to bring smiles to the community’s younger residents.
